TRANSLATE TEXT

Thanks to the PromtX translation software integrated in the IRISPen Translator, you can translate your scanned text lines into any of the languages supported* by the application. You scan the text and the translation directly pops up in a separate translation window.

(*) The list of supported languages directly depends on the language chosen for the installation of the IRISPen Translator. The supported languages are marked with an asterisk (a "*" symbol) in the Language field of the Application window.

Machine translation

The result you get from the IRISPen is machine translation. As you may know, this kind of translation is more an "information-only" translation that gives you the general meaning of a text. The IRISPen will thus work best in business-like, non-emotive contexts. Do not use it to translate literature, poetry, or any text containing metaphors, particular connotations or irony.

To translate text:

•  In the Language field of the Application window, select the source language for the translation, i.e. the language of the text to be scanned and translated. The languages available for translation are marked with an asterisk (a "*" symbol).

•  Select Translator PromtX in the Target section. See: Basic settings, Target. The translation window pops up on your screen.

•  In the translation window, check if the target language is the one you need: the active language pair is displayed in the bottom- right part of the window.

•  If the target language is not the one you need, select another language pair in the translation window, then click on Translate in the translation window toolbar (or select Translate from the Translation drop-down menu, or press F9).
